'A masterstroke': ex-Man City star Joleon Lescott worried by Omar Berrada's departure

Speaking to LiveScore, former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott said: "Manchester United hiring Omar Berrada looks like a masterstroke.

"Omar is a very impressive guy. He's a great person to work with and someone I've shared a lot of insightful conversations with during his time at the Etihad.

"His background is more business-based and focused around the structure of a club, so he will provide stability in that sense where it is needed.

"He's been a big part of the progression and growth of City Football Group, so this is a top acquisition for Man United — and a sensible one."

Man United have poached Berrada from his job as head of football operations at Man City, appointing him the club's new Chief Executive Officer.

Berrada's arrival is part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's massive overhaul at Old Trafford now that the British billionaire has assumed control of football operations.
