Lucas Vazquez also thrives under Solari: two goals in two games in a row

Julen Lopetegui made several controversial decisions. Surprisingly, he didn't trust Lucas Vazquez enough even though the Spaniard is a renowned assist provider. The midfielder was only introduced in the later stages of the matches during the Basque's tenure and got seemingly unhappy with the amount of the playing time he was receiving.

Everything has changed since Santiago Solari's arrival. Lucas has now featured in six out of total seven matches under the Argentinean and played the full 90 minutes in five games. It seems that the 27-year-old is a preferred option in the midfield rather than Isco who is yet to start under the new manager.

Moreover, in the injury-plagued Celta match, Lucas Vazquez spent a significant amount of time at the left-back position, due to the injuries sustained by Nacho, Casemiro and Sergio Reguilon. However, he feels much better on the right wing, combining with Dani Carvajal.

The strong connection between these two have already helped Madrid to win two last games - against Roma and Valencia. Lucas scored in each of these games and also provided an assist on Karim Benzema's opener in the Champions League showdown against Viktoria Plzen earlier this season.

Looks like the Spaniard is finally back where he belongs.
