La Liga kicks off again with Seville derby! 5 Sevilla and Betis stars Real Madrid should consider signing

Sevilla

Diego Carlos

The Brazilian centre-back has already been linked with the Bernabeu move. In fact, Real Madrid reportedly see him as Sergio Ramos' successor – and rightly so, because his potential is undeniable.

Despite being rather a no-nonsense centre-back than a ball-playing one, Diego Carlos is valued for his physical skills and mentality. By the way, the 27-year-old averages an impressive number of 5.1 clearances per game in La Liga, as per WhoScored.

The player's release clause at Sevilla reportedly stands at €75m. However, as the players' prices have supposedly dropped, it is possible that the Andalusians will let him go for a much lower cost.

Jules Kounde

The 21-year-old centre-back was said to be on Arsenal's radars about a year ago – but it was Sevilla whose offer turned out to be the most convincing.

One of the league's brightest talents, Kounde is especially valued for his vision and accurate long passes – and it's quite amazing given that he's just 1.84m tall.

After coming to Sevilla, Kounde spent a few games on the sidelines before finally becoming a first-team regular. Today, he's in the team's starting XI alongside Diego Carlos.

Lucas Ocampos

Having arrived at Sevilla for just €15m in July 2019, the Argentine's price jumped up in a flash as he was valued at €40m before the coronavirus pandemic.

What's special about the 25-year-old is that he's incredibly good with both legs. And it looks like the La Liga switch worked out well for him: 11 games before the season's finish, Ocampos has netted 12 goals which is just 3 goals less than the tally he had at Monaco (15) where he had made almost 100 appearances.

In October 2019, Ocampos completed his long-awaited debut for Argentina, having bagged 2 goals in 3 fixtures for his national side.

And let's not forget about our loanee Sergio Reguilon who's showing some quality football this term!

Real Betis

Nabil Fekir

The World Cup winner was one step from signing for Liverpool in 2018 but he reportedly failed to pass the medicals as his dream move turned into dust.

After that, Fekir was never as good as he was the season before that summer but it seems that the Betis move returned him the passion for playing his best football.

The attacking midfielder has recorded 7 goals and 6 assists in this season's La Liga while his individual brilliance in the Barcelona clash made him the hero of that night.

Emerson

In case we need a back-up option for Dani Carvajal and Achraf Hakimi stays put at Dortmund, Emerson will perhaps be the right choice. Barcelona are reportedly keen on bringing the Brazilian back to Camp Nou in 2021 but nothing is confirmed yet.

The 21-year-old has had an amazing spell with the Beticos, scoring 3 goals and recording 5 assists. Unlike Hakimi, Emerson is slightly better in defensive play: he averages 2.1 tackles per game (Hakimi 1.9), 1.7 clearances (Hakimi 0.6) and 0.3 blocks (Hakimi 0.1), as per WhoScored.
