In an interview with RAC1, as quoted by Marca, Dani Alves said: "I had an offer from Real Madrid when I was still at Sevilla.
"Like it or not, Real Madrid are a big club. However, I decided to go with what my heart was saying and I chose Barcelona."
The former Barca defender, 37, currently plays for Sao Paulo and it's tough to imagine him playing in our colours - even though he has opened up about the failed move to Los Blancos in the past.
Alves left the Catalan club on a rather bitter note but is still regarded as one of the best right-backs to have played in La Liga lately.
Would Alves have been a good choice for Madrid?
