- Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric: Even though the pair are yet to extend their respective deals with Real Madrid, the Whites are reportedly set to resume contract talks with Ramos and Modric in early January.
- Gianluigi Donnarumma: The AC Milan keeper has established himself among Europe's best goalies at the age of 21. He's long been linked with a move to the Bernabeu but Madrid hardly need a new stopped as long as Thibaut Courtois stays in the Spanish capital.
- Elseid Hysaj: With Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola on board, there's probably no place for the Napoli right-back in Zinedine Zidane's squad.
- Jerome Boateng: It would be a huge surprise to see the ageing Bayern Munich centre-back in the Whites shirt.
- David Alaba: As per reports in Spain, Madrid are leading the race to land the 28-year-old at the end of the season.
- Georginio Wijnaldum: The Liverpool midfielder is famous for his versatility but It's Barcelona who are believed to be the frontrunners for his signature.
- Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Even though the AC Milan and AS Roma attacking midfielders have managed to impress this term so far, Madrid arguably don't need any of the two anytime soon.
- Memphis Depay: Another target of Barca who looks set to join Madrid's bitter rivals next summer or even in January.
- Sergio Aguero: The Argentine remains to be among the best strikers in the world but he's unlikely to move to the Bernabeu due to his Atletico past and the presence of Karim Benzema.
- Lionel Messi: The Barcelona captain joining Zidane's set-up would be something from a parallel universe.
There are also a few valuable options for Madrid to consider signing for free next summer, including Andrey Lunev, Thiago Silva, Juan Bernat, Julian Draxler, Angel Di Maria, Florian Thauvin and Arkadiusz Milik.
