'Imagine spending €60m on bench player': Why Madrid should avoid Camavinga, alternative named

There are many rumours linking Real Madrid with a move for Eduardo Camavinga, the French prodigy who has made 77 appearances for Rennes at the age of 18.

Camavinga is a holding midfielder—and a Madridista nicknamed asakura33 thinks spending money on Lyon's attacker Houssem Aouar would be wiser.

"Aouar would be so much better than Camavinga," asakura33 wrote on Reddit.

"Camavinga is so overrated. We already have Valverde in his position. Imagine spending €60 million for a backup bench player.

"And he wouldn’t wanna sit on the bench. That worked with Jovic, right?

"Zidane will turn Aouar into next Modric. Zidane really wants Aouar he has requested personally for him.

"I hope we get him. Has more experience than Camavinga, is 22 and will enter his prime soon. Camavinga is 18, leaving another teenager in Zidane's hand does not seem ideal to me."

Aouar is a different player to Camavinga. The Rennes wonderkid is a holding midfielder whose primary job is to defend, while Houssem is an offensive player who likes to dribble past his marker and create chances for his teammates.

Aouar sends Dybala packing:

Earlier in March, Marca reported that Real Madrid are keeping tabs on the Lyon playmaker. The Whites could face competition from Juventus, Arsenal and Liverpool for his signature.

Do you think bringing in Aouar would make sense?
