'It’s an honour to wear this shirt': Blanco happy to play for Madrid, reveals role model

Antonio Blanco was extremely pleasing to watch as Real Madrid beat Osasuna 2-0—and the Castilla midfielder spoke to the media after the game.

"I try to make sure I’m ready whenever the coach calls on me," he said as quoted by the club's official website.

"I’m working hard to make sure that I do as well as I can when I’m called upon. I try to play my game and help the team. Zidane told me just to play my game.

"It’s an honour to play with Casemiro, who is a role model. He gives me so much advice and I’m proud to play alongside him and with the best players in the world.

"It’s an honour to wear this shirt. I’m going to keep working hard every day to be ready when the chances come my way and do as best I can. We’re ready to win LaLiga and the Champions League."

The 20-year-old delivered a midfield masterclass, registering 88 touches, a 92 per cent pass accuracy and 5 ball recoveries.

He almost got an assist as he whipped in a great cross from a free-kick but Militao's header went straight into Sergio Herrera.

And it was Blanco's fourth appearance for Real Madrid. We seem to have a world-class midfielder rising through the ranks at the club.
