Lucas Vazquez 'rejects' Atletico Madrid approach, Milan enter race for Spaniard

According to Spanish AS, Atletico Madrid have approached Lucas Vazquez with an offer but the 29-year-old has rejected it. The newspaper says his loyalty to Real Madrid was a reason behind turning down the proposal from the cross-city rivals.

Vazquez is said to be close to signing a 3-year contract extension with Los Blancos after he was offered improved terms from €3.5m to €5m annually.

The report also says Sergio Ramos could help convince Lucas to stay. They formed a strong bond and if the captain stays, Lucas is expected to sign the new deal as well.

As the decision is made yet, Lucas is free to consider options. PSG and Bayern Munich have been linked with a move for him and now Milan are said to be in the race as well.
