Bale not considering retirement despite reports (reliability: 5 stars)

Gareth Bale will not retire after Euro-2020, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Earlier report from ABC suggested that the Welshman may go down this road as the pressure of professional football was getting to him. ABC even stated that Bale was ready to waive up to half of his annual €15m salary to hang up his boots.

Romano quashed those claims though, saying Bale's future at either Real Madrid or Spurs is up in the air but retirement is not an option for the winger.

Bale remains Real Madrid's top earner by some distance. He's spent the last season on loan at Spurs, netting 16 goals in 34 appearances. However, the London side are going through a managerial change and might not keep Bale around.

We are not sure Bale can revive his career with Los Blancos though, even if Zinedine Zidane leaves. So it'll probably be best for all parties concerned if the Welshman moved clubs this summer.
