After the Osasuna draw, Real Madrid no longer top the La Liga table. If they want to get back there as soon as possible, three points against Elche is a must.
In order to achieve that, Carlo Ancelotti needs to field a strong line-up. Here are some of his options.
Option 1
Real Madrid XI: Courtois - Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Mendy - Casemiro, Modric, Kroos - Rodrygo, Jovic, Vinicius Jr.
The big question is who will start at centre-forward since Karim Benzema has not been included in the match squad. Luka Jovic is supposed to be his backup, and Ancelotti might give him a chance from the start.
Other changes to the line-up would include Rodrygo playing from the start after being left on the bench in the previous game. As well as Luka Modric making his return after missing the Osasuna match through injury.
The remaining positions are unchanged.
Option 2
Real Madrid XI: Courtois - Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Mendy - Casemiro, Modric, Kroos - Rodrygo, Hazard, Vinicius Jr.
Another option would be to play Eden Hazard as a false nine. The Belgian played there during his time at Chelsea, although he obviously feels more natural on the wing.
Option 3
Real Madrid XI: Courtois - Vazquez, Militao, Alaba, Marcelo - Casemiro, Camavinga, Kroos - Hazard, Mariano, Vinicius Jr.
Elche are not that high in the league table, and Ancelotti might decide to rotate his players a bit.
First, he could bench Ferland Mendy and Dani Carvajal who have played a lot since returning from injury, Lucas Vazquez and Marcelo would take their spots respectively.
In midfield, Eduardo Camavinga could start ahead of Modric in case the veteran is still not fully fit.
As for the attacking line, Hazard could start on the right while Mariano is given a chance at centre-forward.
