'Great commitment': Ancelotti compliments Mariano after Elche win

"I thought he did a brilliant job," Carlo Ancelotti said of Mariano Diaz after the Elche game, as quoted by Real Madrid's official website.

"He showed great commitment, made a lovely assist for the first goal, he was decisive on three or four occasions.

"It was a good performance."

Madrid defeated Elche 2-1 and Mariano provided an assist to Vinicius' opener.

The 28-year-old made his first appearance for Madrid this season. Mariano is the Whites' third-choice striker, with both Benzema and Jovic ahead of him in the pecking order.
