OFFICIAL: Leo Messi wins Ballon d'Or 2021

France Football have confirmed that Leo Messi has won the 2021 Ballon d'Or. It is the seventh time he gets his hands on the award.

He beats Robert Lewandowksi to the trophy, who finished in second. Real Madrid's striker Karim Benzema finished in the fourth spot.

In 2021 (until the end of the voting), Messi recorded 40 goals and 16 assists in 49 games. He won the Copa del Rey and Copa America as well as the La Liga top goalscorer and Copa America top goalscorer, assist provider and player of the tournament.
