Real Madrid are set to face Athletic Bilbao at home in an unplanned mid-week game as it was re-scheduled due to the international break. Considering this, Carlo Ancelotti might decide to rotate the squad, although he doesn't like it too much.
Here are some of his options for the game against the Basques.
Option 1
Real Madrid XI: Courtois - Vazquez, Militao, Nacho, Mendy - Casemiro, Valverde, Kroos - Rodrygo, Benzema, Vinicius Jr.
David Alaba reportedly had some discomfort before the previous game, so it might be a good idea to play Nacho instead of him. Another change to the backline could be Lucas Vazquez starting ahead of Dani Carvajal.
In midfield, Fede Valverde is fit again and should be the go-to option if Ancelotti wants to rest veteran Luka Modric.
As for the attack, Rodrygo is back on the squad list and may get the nod ahead of Marco Asensio.
Option 2
Real Madrid XI: Courtois - Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Mendy - Casemiro, Modric, Kroos - Asensio, Benzema, Vinicius Jr.
If Ancelotti decides that his players are fit enough, he might give another go to the line-up he used in the Sevilla match on the weekend.
