"I've got a lot of confidence in this team and they’re motivated to play in this match," Carlo Ancelotti told a press conference ahead of the Copa del Rey last-32 clash against Alcoyano.
"We're taking it seriously and that's the only way to approach it if we want to reach the final of the competition.
"We have to respect our opponents and know the problems that they could cause us. I'm going to play the best possible team.
"I've not seen the game last year against Alcoyano. I know what happened because the players have told me about it.
"It's an open wound because it came at a difficult time of the season. They know what happened and what can't happen tomorrow."
Last season, Alcoyano knocked Madrid out of the competition in the Round of 16, defeating Zinedine Zidane's side 2-1. It was a shocking result for Los Blancos.
Madrid have been drawn against Alcoyano again. The game is today (January 5), kick-off at 9:30 Spain time.
