Marco Asensio, as reported by Manu Sainz of Diario AS (4 stars), no longer wants to leave Real Madrid this summer. Instead, he wants to fulfil his contract and maybe find a solution for a contract extension.
The Spaniard had a change of heart for two reasons. First, the likes of Gareth Bale, Isco and Luka Jovic left the club. Second, the Merengues aren't signing anyone upfront.
Asensio's priority is to have more playing time. Considering the exits and the fact that Real Madrid don't have a natural right winger in the squad, Marco believes he will get more chances this season.
With a contract until 2023, Asensio wanted to push for an exit this summer. His goal is to be at the World Cup this year, so he needs constant practice to make Spain's squad list.
