Benzema and 1 more Real Madrid player nominated for UEFA Player of the Year award

Real Madrid have two representatives in the category of the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year.

Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois have both been nominated alongside Man City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne.

A group of coaches and journalists picked the three players for the final shortlist for this award.

Considering that Los Blancos won the Champions League last season, it’s not surprising to see two players in the running.

Benzema had a fantastic campaign, scoring 15 goals and providing 2 assists in 12 Champions League games.

Courtois also played a massive role in the win, with his best performance coming in the final against Liverpool in which he basically won the match for Madrid with his amazing saves.
