"There is no better way to celebrate my 450th game with a goal. Vini gave me a good ball and it's been one of the easiest goals of my career," Luka Modric said after the match against Sevilla.
"It's a very important number, I'm very happy to get there. I hope it grows bigger... let's see how far I get. I'm very proud to be part of this club, playing so many games is very nice."
Vini indeed provided a great assist to Modric, beating the players on the wing, entering the box and passing to an empty net.
"Very happy with the win, the goal, and for reaching 450 games for Madrid. It's time to get back to work," the midfielder later wrote on Twitter.
Modric joined Real Madrid in 2012 and reached 450 matches in 11 unfinished seasons. However, he is still far from the top 10, with club legend Pirri occupying the 10th spot with 561 games played.
During these 450 matches, Luka contributed with 34 goals and 74 assists. He helped the club win 21 trophies, including 5 Champions League titles.
