Real Madrid offloads 11 players this summer: Kroos names one departure that surprised him

Real Madrid offloaded 11 players this summer, from veterans Gareth Bale, Marcelo and Isco to youngsters Miguel Gutierrez, Víctor Chust and Take Kubo.

However, according to Toni Kroos, the departure of Casemiro surprised him the most.

"I was surprised by Casemiro's departure," Kroos told Jorge Valdano of Movistar.

"I thought it was a rumour, like many. I was very sad. But it's football, there's always an end," Kroos concluded.

Casemiro left Real Madrid for Manchester United for €70.65m. The midfielder had formed a partnership with Kroos and Modric.
