'Thank God he didn't take it': Ancelotti teases one player who should've been Madrid's fifth penalty taker vs Valencia

Talking to the press following the Valencia win, Carlo Ancelotti revealed the player who was supposed to take the fifth penalty in the shootout.

"The key to winning the shootout was starting with the most experienced and coolest penalty takers. Karim [Benzema], [Toni] Kroos, [Luka] Modric...Then [Marco] Asensio, who has a strong shot..Vinicius would have taken the fifth [penalty], but thank God he didn’t".

Of course, Carlo meant no harm for Vini, the Italian simply loves poking fun at his players. And, after all, it is true. We are all glad it was Thibaut Courtois who drew the line to that game with yet another brilliant save.

Winning against Valencia on penalties, Madrid will now face either Betis or Barcelona in the Supercopa final on Sunday.
