Speaking after Real Madrid played a 0-0 draw against Real Sociedad on Sunday night, Carlo Ancelotti ruled out any transfer business by Los Blancos in the January window.
“The transfer window? It’s closed in every respect, both in terms of exits and players coming in,” Ancelotti said.
Some rumours linked Real Madrid with a move for a fullback in January considering the injuries to Ferland Mendy and Dani Carvajal, with Lucas Vazquez also out. But Ancelotti has improvised by playing Eduardo Camavinga and Nacho as full-backs.
There's also no natural replacement for Karim Benzema except for a 'rusty' Mariano Diaz. Still, Real Madrid remains confident in their current squad.
Some reports in Spain claim Ancelotti isn't really happy with Florentino Perez over the lack of signings. However, those rumours remain unfounded.
