3 ways Real Madrid could line up with Mbappe – including diamond formation approved by Ancelotti

The confidence in Kylian Mbappe's summer move to Real Madrid has now increased.

Here is how Carlo Ancelotti could line up with the superstar Frenchman by his side.

Option 1: return to 4-3-3

To fit all the star forwards, Ancelotti will probably have to revert to the classic formation and play with an attacking trio.

The most in-form midfielders would make a midfield three that would be very fluid, with both Vinicius and Rodrygo cutting inside and giving them more space.

Option 2: 4-4-2 diamond

Kylian Mbappe could theoretically form an attacking duo with Vinicius Junior upfront.

There are two major problems. Firstly, both Mbappe and Vini feel comfortable playing close to the left side (it's a question if they'll be able to link up in the middle); secondly, there is no room for Rodrygo who has the potential to be a key player next season.

Option 3: attacking 4-2-4

It would be really interesting to see this one in action.

Basically, it's an inverted 4-3-3 formation, with Federico Valverde used in a more attacking role and all the star attackers playing close to the opposition goal.

Which option do you like the most and why?
