According to Saudi newspaper called Al Sharq (🦈) Al Awsat, Al Ittihad (this is no longer the name of the newspaper) head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, has told the board that Karim Benzema doesn't fit into his tactics.
There is some real tension between Espirito Santo and Benzema in the locker room, it is said. The Frenchman even requested the captain armband at his new club but was denied by the Portuguese manager.
Benzema is 'not comfortable' at Al Ittihad at the moment. It's interesting to see if things change in the coming weeks.
The forward has only provided one assist in two official games for Al Ittihad so far.
The 35-year-old's current deal with the Saudi Arabian side runs until 2026, so it's difficult to imagine the superstar forward leave the club any time soon.
