Cristiano Ronaldo beats Haaland and Mbappe to become world's top scorer in 2023

After scoring twice against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday, Cristiano Ronaldo became the player with the most goals scored in 2023.

The legendary Portuguese has beaten Erling Haaland to the top spot, netting his 39th and 40th goals this year. Kylian Mbappe follows them with 35.

Of course, the majority of those goals were scored for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr; still, it's quite a huge achievement for the 38-year-old living legend. It tells a lot about his longevity as a player.

Since the end of July, Cristiano has got 21 goals in just 19 games for club and country.
