'Amazing': Toni Kroos reacts to Saudi crowd booing him in Atleti win

 was loudly booed by the crowd every time he touched the ball during 

's 5-3 win against Atletico Madrid in Saudi Arabia. 

Kroos responded with class after the match. The midfielder simply tweeted: "That was fun today! Amazing crowd😍"

The reason the Saudi crowd were so hostile to Kroos dates back to August 2023 when Kroos criticized talented Celta Vigo forward Gabri Veiga for choosing to move to Saudi at the young age of 21. Kroos labelled the move as "embarrassing."

It seems like fans in Saudi never forgave Kroos for his comment and waited for an opportunity to express their feelings when he came to play in the Middle East. 

Kroos was linked with a bumper move to Saudi Pro League last summer but he rejected it to extend his Real Madrid contract by a year. 

It now looks like Kroos would rather retire than play in Saudi.

The problem is the big money coming in from oil states. This is sooner or later gonna destroy the sport. There should be a transfer fee and salary cap across all leagues and then, it’s absolutely ok to make yourself the most exciting league, whatever country it is. That would mean a level playing field and it’s about local football associations to make the difference.

If he was playing for money, he could have gone to Saudi Arabia or any other team that wants him and would pay him. He is at the age where he Real Madrid only does one year contracts so it would be easy to walk and take cash from a whole bunch of other teams. He takes less of a salary to stay at Real Madrid. 

And kudos to you. I am a married lesbian. I would not risk arrest to go to there to watch a football game. I bet you don't have skin in the game. Messi went to the MLS instead of taking the money. He wanted to continue playing while having a good lifestyle for him and his family. (He can take their money to promote them without living in the country or playing there.) And MLS as a football project is still more attractive than Saudi Arabia. Fans show up to matches. The Houston Dynamo have the least average match attendance in the MlS at around 15,000. That's 14,000 more people than a lot of Saudi league matches.

Perhaps you are just watching football without doing any research.... Inter miami is ranked 1480 in the world and Saudi club such as Al Nassr is ranked 95 in the world and you're condemning the league... Every player does what they want and play where they want to play
