Why Cristiano Ronaldo wears nail polish explained

Some fans were surprised to see nail polish on Cristiano Ronaldo's toes as he shared a pic with his son.

According to Bild, the legendary Portuguese does this to prevent fungus and bacteria as the protective layer hardens the nails. He spends much time wearing sweaty boots which puts him at risk of catching it.

Ronaldo is not the first athlete to do it. Even Mike Tyson reportedly painted his nails in his prime. This is also common in MMA and track-and-field athletics.

The 39-year-old doesn't care what people say about his appearance – as usual, he is focused on himself and his healthy lifestyle.

Cristiano has netted 27 goals and delivered 11 assists in 28 appearances for Al Nassr so far.
