Which Real Madrid players are fasting in Ramadan?

Every year, Muslims around the world set aside a month to pray, fast and seek God with all devotion. This year's Ramadan kicked off on Sunday, March 10 and ends on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

Ramadan is popular in football because players of the Islamic faith also engage in this exercise despite the physical nature of their jobs. Former Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema usually performed well in the Champions League during the Ramadan period. PSG, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City can attest.

Benzema is no longer at Real Madrid but there are still three first-team players who will be fasting during this year's Ramadan — Antonio Rudiger, Ferland Mendy, Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler.

Rudiger doesn't hide his faith, the defender celebrated with a praying gesture after scoring his second goal of the season in Real Madrid's 4-0 win against Celta Vigo.
