Antonio Rudiger was tremendous when Germany faced France in a friendly match earlier. The German defender completely shut down Kylian Mbappe reducing him to almost a spectator on the pitch.
Mbappe managed to complete 4 of his 9 dribbles and had one shot on target. Thus his dribbling and shooting numbers dropped below average with 44% and 17% respectively.
This was only a friendly game but it was one of the most difficult matches Mbappe has played this season, thanks to Rudiger.
After the game, Rudiger shared some pictures of himself overcoming Mbappe with the caption: "Good evening for us 🔥👊🏾 #CleanSheet ❌"
You don't mess around Rudiger even if you're Mbappe on your way to becoming his teammate at Real Madrid. The 31-year-old defender again showed why he's one of the world's best in that position.
Rudiger finished the match against France by making 6 clearances, including one on the goal line. He also won 50% of his aerial duels.
Most importantly for Real Madrid, he avoided injury.
