Real Madrid to pay €66m each year until 2053 as new Bernabeu costs revealed

Santiago Bernabeu is currently under renovation which is expected to be finished in the summer.

The Athletic report that the cost of renovation currently stands at €1.76bn, including interest as the club had to take three loans to finance the work.

Real Madrid will pay €66m on average each year until 2053. It doesn't worry Florentino Perez though, who told the club members assembly that the payments constitute “less than half of the annual profits that we plan to obtain after the completion of the works”.

Profit will come not only from football games but from concerts and other sporting events.
