“One of the best midfielders of all time,” Aurelien Tchouameni told The Bridge about Toni Kroos. “He has an incredible level this season.
“He only has one year of contract. So at the end of each season, he can decide if he wants to stop or not.
“And when you talk to him, he says 'yes I can stop at the end of the season because I want to stop at the top'. It's hard to understand, but ultimately I think he's right.”
Kroos' contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of the season and it's unclear whether he wants to renew it or retire.
The midfielder has recently come out of his retirement with the German national team. He provided an assist within seven seconds of his return and also took out Tchouameni in a sliding tackle as the Madrid teammates faced off in a friendly.
