Spain head coach says he's 'ashamed' of Bernabeu after it whistles at one player during Brazil game

The Santiago Bernabeu booed and whistled at Alvaro Morata during the Spain v Brazil friendly on Tuesday night.

This is because the striker has a difficult relationship with Real Madrid fans, having previously said that he regrets his time at the club.

Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente has slammed the fans who whistled at the Atleti forward.

“Morata getting whistled at by the Bernabéu… it hurts me to the core that in my country, they boo a player of the national team, the captain who is a role model for us, an example,” the 51-year-old said after the game, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“It really hurts. When I hear those boos I feel ashamed.”
