Xabi Alonso wins Bundesliga with Bayer 04

Bayer 04 have claimed the Bundesliga title with five games to go.

Bayer are managed by former Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso. The Spaniard has been heavily linked with eventually succeeding Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu.

Alonso previously turned down an opportunity to manage Liverpool and Bayern, saying that he would stay at Bayer for the next season.

The 42-year-old took over at Bayer in October 2022 when they were second-bottom in the table. He guided them to sixth place and Europa League semi-finals in his first season and has now led them to their first league title in history.
