“I have no doubts. One day, Xavi Alonso will be Real Madrid's manager. No doubts at all, zero doubts,” Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has told El Laguero.
“The only doubt is when he will sign for Real Madrid. But it will happen, trust me. I am sure,” the Bayer chief added.
When a club CEO says this about their employee then it's no longer just a rumour. Alonso is indeed in line to become Real Madrid's head coach.
However, Alonso may not get the big Madrid job in the next two years or so. Carlo Ancelotti currently has a contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2026. If everything goes according to plan the Italian will not be fired till then and would leave as a free agent.
The same goes for Alonso at Bayer. The Spanish gaffer already told the world he would stay at Bayer next season. His contract ends in 2026 just like Ancelotti's.
