Joselu scripted himself into the Real Madrid history books with his amazing brace to help Los Blancos defeat Bayern Munich 2-1 (4-3 on aggregate) in the Champions League semi-final.
The 34-year-old forward is actually on loan from Espanyol at Real Madrid, but his performances have compelled the club to bring him back.
According to El Chiringuito, Joselu is now closer to staying at the Santiago Bernabeu next season. However, it’s still not assured if he’ll be signed permanently or brought back on another loan.
Real Madrid were recently reported to be offering Joselu a one-year contract extension, which hints towards another loan spell from Espanyol.
They have the chance to sign him permanently for only €1.5m in the summer. But the imminent arrival of Kylian Mbappe is probably why Real Madrid doesn’t want to tie down Joselu to a long-term contract.
The Spaniard has become a beloved figure in the Real Madrid dressing room after having scored 16 goals in 47 appearances this season.
