Real Madrid make decision on Luka Modric future (reliability: 5 stars)

Real Madrid don't plan to offer Luka Modric a new deal, report Relevo's Jorge Picon and Rodra P.

The Croatian would be willing to significantly lower his salary to stay for another season; however, the Whites want to give more game time to young players next campaign – in particular to Arda Guler who is considered the 'heir' to the 38-year-old.

Real Madrid also believe Modric's departure would slightly benefit them financially, allowing the club to make more signings.

The club are already preparing 'a very special tribute' for the legendary midfielder.

Luka Modric has registered over 100 goal contributions in 531 appearances for Real Madrid, claiming 24 trophies with the Whites.
