Real Madrid unlikely to sign Kroos replacement until 2025, one potential successor being monitored (reliability: 4 stars)

Real Madrid are not planning on signing a replacement for Toni Kroos in the summer transfer window, as per COPE.

Los Blancos are aiming to look for his successor in 2025. A major reason for that is because the officials feel there are no available players in the transfer market.

Real Madrid plan on using their scouting resources to find an ideal successor to Kroos once the 2024 summer window is over.

However, one player that the club is monitoring is Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich. His contract is set to expire in 2025 unless he signs an extension.

The possibility of signing him as a free agent in 2025 makes him an appealing target for Los Blancos. Kimmich is an elegant midfielder who boasts impressive passing skills and set-piece prowess, but he’s being used as a right-back at Bayern as of late.

Real Madrid’s imminent plan to replace Kroos is likely to see Jude Bellingham play in a deeper midfield role next season. That could allow Arda Guler more game-time in an attacking role going forward.

Do you think Kimmich can be an ideal replacement for Kroos?
