Choupo-Moting out of Cameroon squad cause Federation sent an email to itself instead of him

You'd think that such a high-profile player as Bayern Munich striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting would be of use for the Cameroon national team, so he must have been a bit disappointed when he did not receive a call-up for this month's games.

He had been, however, selected for the national team squad, and the Cameroonian Football Federation even sent an email so they, in turn, were surprised when the player did not report. it was only then when they found out the problem: they sent the email to their own address!

"I was contacted by the federation to find out what was going on," the player's father and agent Camille Just Choupo-Moting claimed. "I contacted FC Bayern and they confirmed that they had not received the invitation.

"Apparently they sent the invite to the wrong email address and didn't notice it until Monday. It's a lack of professionalism."

Fans around the world are pretty much in agreement with this sentiment, although they clearly see a funny side, too:

As a result, Choupo-Moting will miss two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers - and Cameroon are arguably lucky that they've already qualified for the competition as its host country, so this mix-up won't matter much after all.
