Pepe tells Rui Patricio to dive left for Karim Benzema penalty - gets furious to see him go other way

Portugal defender Pepe perfectly guessed which way Karim Benzema would go for his penalty during the 2-2 draw between his side and France on Wednesday.

The French side received a penalty in the first half and Pepe – having played with Benzema for many years at Real Madrid – had pre-existing knowledge of his penalty routine.

He was spotted by the cameras gesturing for Patricio to dive to his left – which would’ve been the goalkeeper’s right-hand side.

Instead, the Wolves goalkeeper completely got it wrong and dived to the opposite side – allowing Benzema to easily slot in the penalty.

This infuriated Pepe – who was seen incensed at his goalkeeper for not listening to his advice and going with his instincts instead.

Portugal were also awarded two penalties in the thrilling game – both of which were scored by Cristiano Ronaldo – who also became the top scorer of the Euros with 5 goals in 3 games so far.
