Unai Emery: 'To build up with the goalkeeper and centre back is going to be our identity'

Unai Emery keeps altering his tactics trying to adapt to every single opponent. This approach hasn't been quite successful so far.

The latest game vs Watford showed the Gunners lack game management. After taking a 2-0 lead vs the Hornets Arsenal totally collapsed in the second half allowing the hosts 31 shots. They took a lot of risk building the game from the back and were suffocated being unable to break high pressing.

However, the manager insists he won't give up in his attempts to implement his ideas. Playing from the back will remain a key principle of his philosophy.

"The last match, Watford [2-2], was maybe the worst in our build up. But we are going to try, to work, to improve, to achieve our style.

"To build up with the goalkeeper and centre back is going to be our identity but we are going to share sometimes with long balls.

"Against Frankfurt [3-0] we were different and decided more times to do long ball, earn metres on the pitch and after attack the space. We are going to decide what to do on Sunday, depending on Aston Villa."
