'Nothing can stop a fired-up Ozil' - why Arsenal desperately need their No. 10 vs Tottenham

"We haven’t seen Mesut Ozil in awhile. Not since the Wolverhampton match back on November 11th. I wouldn’t say that the team has suffered all that much in his absence, but I would bet that he is less than pleased with his lack of usage. He is an every-match kind of guy, though I’d wager, after seeing him against Palace, that he would rather be an every-minute kind of guy.

"I hold to my theory that Unai Emery withheld Ozil against Bournemouth for more than just tactical reasons in that match. I believe that Emery held out Ozil, knowing how much the German wants to play, so that he would be wound up and ready to inflict some wizardry against Tottenham, in front of a fired up home crowd.

"Ozil loves this club, he lives this club, and he is well aware of what the North London Derby means. He also won’t have played in about 20 days, which, for a player of his standard, is just not cool.

"If Ozil takes the hint and is wound up, working his arse off as he’s been doing, and able to find his magic boots as well, then chalk this one up as a win. Nothing can stop a fired-up Ozil and while it might have been a bit contrived, if he can get fired up against Tottenham and really drive this team, then it will all have been worth it.

"Make this easy on us, Ozil."
