Arsenal-linked Gent starlet David dreams of playing in Premier League: 'That's my goal'

"I don’t really focus on that or think much about it," Gent forward Jonathan David told The Guardian when asked about speculation linking him to many clubs around Europe.

"Right now I’m playing almost every minute of every game and that has really helped me get to the level that I need to be. I just need to take a good step where I can make sure I am getting enough time on the pitch to keep developing.

"I don’t want to go somewhere and just stay on the bench so it’s about taking the right step.

"I want to become one of the best strikers in the world. That’s my goal. The Premier League is the best in the world and most competitive so obviously that is somewhere I would love to play in the future."

According to Goal, a rather reliable source, Arsenal are eager to sign the 20-year-old as a potential replacement to Alex Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, the Gunners face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Man United, Porto, Ajax and Lazio.

If it's indeed the end for the Belgian league, David will have finished the campaign with 40 games, 23 goals, 10 assists across all competitions.

The Canadian is capable of playing as a centre-forward, a second striker, a winger and an attacking playmaker.
