Arsenal's transfer activity will largely depend on whether or not we will qualify for the Champions League.
However, there are also a few valuable players who can become free agents after this campaign. These players can bring a variety of experience and class to Arteta's side, boosting their chances for the top four finish and - why not - a title challenge next season.
It should be noted that Arsenal are already linked with several players who will be free agents in the summer, namely Layvin Kurzawa, Ryan Fraser and Willian. Here are three other names we would like our board to consider.
- Thomas Meunier
The Belgian full-back was linked with the Gunners last summer but the move fell through. The 28-year-old is good at recovering the lost ball (1.7 successful tackles per game in Ligue 1) and is also an asset going forward.
Given the sad fact that Hector Bellerin is stagnating, we definitely need someone to compete with the Spaniard for the starting spot. Meunier, who has lifted many trophies with PSG, will bring experience and winning mentality to Arteta's youthful side.
- Daler Kuzyaev
The Russia international is a very intelligent passer capable of creating chances for strikers. Kuzyaev is extremely important in the build-up, often seen playing one-twos or, on the contrary, holding up the ball in order to find better ways of moving forward.
Used primarily as a central midfielder, the tactically aware 27-year-old is a good tackler. Able to play in a variety of roles, the Zenit St Petersburg ace is a perfect replacement for Dani Ceballos in case the Spaniard decides to leave the Emirates.
- John Lundstram
The 26-year-old possesses that unbreakable grit which can work wonders under Mikel Arteta. The Sheffield United midfielder is yet to sign an extension and could be a free agent in the summer.
His endless energy, clever ability to tuck into scoring areas and defensive fortitude can be an asset for the Gunners. Lundstram is used to the high-pressing game, signs of which we've seen at Arsenal under Arteta, and help rattle opposition midfielders on the big occasions.
The Englishman has scored 4 times and picked up 3 assists this season, so he’s also effective going forward and can add that distinct goal-scoring threat to our attack.
