Arsenal 'have formally contacted' Reims over centre-back Axel Disasi

According to Goal, Arsenal have formally contacted Reims over availability of Axel Disasi, which comes as a confirmation of an earlier L'Equipe report.

The Frenchman has no plans of extending his deal that expires in the summer of 2021, which could force the Ligue 1 side to offload the defender this summer. Goal says the 22-year-old could be available at £13m.

Disasi has drawn attention from Premier League West Ham and Southampton, while Monaco and some Bundesliga clubs are keeping tabs on him as well.

The defender has been ever-present for Reims this season who sit 5th in the table. The French side have registered the best defensive record among clubs in Ligue 1 clubs conceding just 21 goals in 28 games.
