'Totally untrue': Partey's representatives deny Arsenal negotiations

It looks like we have another twist in the 'Thomas Partey to Arsenal' saga as the player's representatives JJSports labelled negotiations between the Gunners and Atletico Madrid 'totally untrue'.

Earlier today Partey's father stated that three-way negotiations between the midfielder, the London outfit and Los Rojiblancos, saying it's basically down to Arsenal meeting Atletico's demands.

Two days ago The Guardian reported that the Madrid club were looking to double Partey's wages and bump up his release clause in an attempt to fend off interest from potential suitors, with Arsenal being linked heavily. His current deal runs out in 2023 by which time he'll in Madrid for 10 years already.

Mikel Arteta appears to be keen on the midfielder, with the Gunners reportedly ready to meet the Ghanaian's not-insignificant current release clause of £43m. There is even a possibility Alexandre Lacazette may go the other way in a swap deal, as Atletico seem interested in the Frenchman's services.
