Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of signing a prolific young striker from Sunderland Joe Hugill.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are finalizing on a deal for the 17-year-old who has been in the interests of multiple Premier League sides, including Arsenal.

Apart from the Gunners, Tottenham and Wolves have been following the kid but Manchester United are believed to the most consistent party in the pursuit and are now closing in on securing his services for the long-term.

United are working on a £300,000 deal for the youngster, who has been extremely impressive in the youth level for Sunderland.

The striker has a rare combination of height advantage standing at 6'2" along with technical efficiency and high speed.

The youngster has scored 3 goals in 7 appearances in the Youth Premier League level but also managed a hattrick in the FA Youth Cup for the Black Cats.
