Which former Arsenal players would add steel and quality to the current squad if they came out of retirement?
We've come up with 6 suggestions. Of course, we all would love to see the likes of David Seaman and Nwankwo Kanu but there are fears they won't be fit enough now!
Thierry Henry. This one is pretty obvious, right? The Montreal Impact manager will never forget how to score goals: it's in his blood.
Patrick Vieira. The tenacious midfielder is chilling in the French Riviera coaching OGC Nice but today's Arsenal will surely benefit from his determination and leadership skills.
Tony Adams. Mr Arsenal will surely be of use despite being 53 years of age. He may have lost his pace but not his tackling skills! And, after all, Arsenal's current centre-backs are not really quick either...
Tomas Rosicky. The Czech maestro does not need to move, really. He can just stand somewhere in the final third, waiting for a pass. Give him the ball and he will create a goalscoring opportunity for the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta. When you see pre-pandemic pictures from the London Colney training ground, you get a feeling that Mike could join the team as a player, too. A Granit Xhaka replacement.
Arteta was quite good as a player:
Bacary Sagna. Bac has not officially retired yet but he's been a free agent for a while now. With Hector Bellerin losing his pace and no viable second-choice option at the right-back, the 37-year-old could be very useful.
Bonus:
Santi Cazorla. I know he has not retired yet and the fact that the little magician plays football on a professional level is a miracle. We miss him, he misses Arsenal: if he plays just one more game for us, it'd bring the much-needed closure to everyone.
