'He would not get the same opportunities at Liverpool': Former Spurs player urges Saka to stay at Arsenal

Former Tottenham and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has commented on the rumours linking Bukayo Saka with a move away from the Emirates.

"A top player. I have seen him a few times and Arsenal will do all that they can to renew his contract," the retired shot-stopper told Football Insider.

"Liverpool are trying to muscle in there and take him because he is 18 and has already made 29 appearances this season. He is very good going forward.

"However, with Arteta at Arsenal, I think it could be more beneficial for the player to stay there.

"I doubt that he would get the same opportunities at Liverpool as an 18-year-old. For his development, it is worth staying at Arsenal for a while longer under a manager that is keen to promote youth."

Saka is destined for greatness under Mike:

The 18-year-old receives just £3,000 per week and his contract expires in 2021. As was reported earlier, Arsenal tried to extend his deal but all negotiations are currently on hold due to the pandemic.

Liverpool are said to be interested in the left-sided player whose brilliance this term epitomises the team's rebirth under Mikel Arteta.

Saka is the Gunners' leading assist provider with 10. He has also scored three goals this season. Both fans and Arsenal greats are astonished at his confident and mature displays.

The left-winger is cagey on extending his contract, saying that he leaves all negotiations to his parents and agent.
