Arsenal 'would welcome' Lacazette-Lemar swap

According to Diario AS, a relatively good source regarding Spanish transfers, Arsenal have decided to part ways with Alexandre Lacazette.

Atletico Madrid are named as an interested party as they need an attacking reinforcement and have been following the Frenchman for several years.

Just like the Gunners, Los Rojiblancos have been financially hit by the coronavirus crisis and do not have enough money to buy the former Lyon man.

Therefore, the idea of a player exchange being considered. This will see Lacazette going to Wanda Metropolitana and Thomas Lemar joining the North Londoners.

As the source notes, it is Arsenal, not Atletico, who contemplate the Laca-Lemar swap deal.

Lemar can set the Premier League on fire if he discovers the form he showed at the Principality side:

Just like many other Gunners fans, we are perplexed with the fact that the article mentions Thomas Lemar but not Thomas Partey.

The Ghana international is heavily linked with a move to the Emirates and fans are debating the possibility of a Laca-Partey exchange.

Lemar, on the other hand, has also been of interest to the Gunners for quite a long time. No one doubts that he showed a lot of quality during his years at AS Monaco but his performances at Atletico have not been convincing.

As for Lacazette, the recent smoking incident has been the final straw for Arteta if the report is to be believed.

Eddie Nketiah had gradually been taking the Frenchman's previously undisputed place in the starting XI before the pandemic put football on hold. Moreover, Alexandre reportedly asked his France teammate Antoine Griezmann to brief him about Atletico.
