Fans 'could be allowed' to Wembley to watch FA Cup final on August 1 on one condition

According to the Mirror, the UK football authorities are discussing the possibility of allowing spectators back into stadiums and the FA Cup final on August 1 is seen as a perfect opportunity to test the waters.

10,000 fans from each finalist side could be allowed to Wembley to watch their team fight for the cup but only in case the infection rate has dropped below 0.5 days before the final.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

Wembley's 90,000 capacity could allow for 20,000 supporters to be seated while following the social distancing regulations. The stadium officials believe there is enough space to control the movement of fans when they enter and exit the stadium.

As the UK is believed to be past the peak, the state of lockdown is getting eased and football returns, it is only a matter of time when the authorities find a way for fans to be safely seated in stadiums.

The Gunners have won the most FA Cups and hope to add another one to their cabinet this season:

The remaining Premier League games, restarting on June 17, are set to be played behind closed doors. The FA Cup will resume on June 27 (quarter-finals) and the final is scheduled for August 1.

Arsenal are set to lock horns with Sheffield United after eliminating Portsmouth in the fifth round.

Interestingly, the plan described above is similar to what Jens Lehmann proposed earlier to the Bundesliga. The retired goalkeeper, who had contracted the disease himself, suggested having one in four seats occupied.

His plan was not supported as the German leagues have resumed behind closed doors.

Do you think it'd be safe to allow fans back into stadiums in August?
