Sven Mislintat eyeing Dinos Mavropanos reunion at Stuttgart

According to German sports newspaper Kicker. Stuttgart are interested in taking Konstantinos Mavropanos on loan next season.

When Sven Mislintat worked at Arsenal, he identified the Greek as a target and convinced the hierarchy to sign the young defender. The Gunners paid around €2m to PAS Giannina to force through the deal in January 2018.

Arsene Wenger promoted him to the first team straight after the transfer and even used him in a couple of games during that season. However, since then Mavropanos hasn't enjoyed much playing time. Injuries have hampered his progress and he had to move on loan to play more regularly.

At Nuremberg, the Greek made 12 appearances after joining the Bundesliga 2 side in January. He's helped the club survive in the relegation battle and earned some positive reviews for his performances.

Mislintat, now a Stuttgart sporting director, believes the 22-year-old could be a good fit to strengthen the backline of the team, who have earned a promotion to the Bundesliga.

Mavropanos has 3 more years on his deal with Arsenal and it remains to be seen if Arteta sanctions another loan move for the Greek or prefers to keep him in a bid to improve our defence.

Do you think Arsenal should keep him or is a loan move the best decision for Mavropanos' development? Share your opinion in the comments or via our brand-new blogging platform!
