Has to be him first on the chopping block, doesn't it? Despite Arteta's words about equal opportunities for everyone and clean slate with a new season, Matteo looks like a goner, not a Gooner.

The Frenchman was reintegrated into first-team training recently and was willing to make amends too but once again was omitted from the matchday squad, vs Fulham this time. He's been offered to Atletico and Lyon at least and we'll be surprised if he's still here on October 6th.

Another central midfielder who failed to make the matchday squad on day 1. He's being heavily linked with a move to Torino or Sampdoria. Both look to be initial loans with an obligation to buy.

The energetic Uruguayan is a fine player at what he does best but it seems Arteta just doesn't need his talents in a system which does not cater for a defensive midfielder.

He seems to have fallen by the wayside and we don't see a path back for the experienced Greek. Gabriel, Holding, Luiz and Mustafi are ahead of him in the pecking order, most likely Mari and Chambers are too.

Napoli seem the side most active on signing the Greek, their president Aurelio De Laurentis confirmed their interest and the Italians might have to plug a gap if Koulibaly leaves for Man City.

We simply have an abundance of left-backs/left wingbacks in the squad. Kieran Tierney is number 1 obviously, Ainsley Maitland-Niles has played there lately and we know Bukayo Saka is half-decent on the left too.

A move back to Schalke seems to be on the cards, Kola will have to take a massive paycut for it to come about but we won't be surprised to see him ply his trade elsewhere this season.
